How is this backback for high school and college use and just general use for trips and vacations?

It looks fine as long as you like the color. Personally, I think it's really bright, but that's personal opinion. As for college use, I don't know if it looks too small (thickness-wise). Looking at how the computer fits, it seems like there's not much space. If you are planning on carrying heavy books or tons of stuff, I would get one with better shoulder straps (with more cushioning) and maybe a little bigger.
