My brother is 18 been charged with VC 10851 Felony and VC 2800.2(B) Felony he was on juvenile probation?

My brother is been charged VC 10851 Felony and VC 2800.2(B) Felony he had a criminal back ground and was on juvinlie probation this would be his first insident as an adult. What are his chances of pleading for misdemeanor and time wise how much would he be looking at? I just need advice on what to do his bail was set to $170,000.00 so we oviously can't afford that and i dont know if i should get him a lawyer?or wait for his first court. Help!!
