GTA IV friendships/relationships...?

I like the sound of some of the bonuses you get but i was curious if you lose them if your status falls below the percent needed to gain it. So if I unlock Jomo's gun bonus, but them upset him on a "date" so that the percentage drops, will I lose that bonus? Don't want to waste my time for nothing.
