How to properly hook up a 4 ohm dual VC 15 to a 2 channel pyle 2200 bridgeable amp?
First off, that amp is total crap...those specs of 1400x1 are an absolute lie (not on your part, on the manufacturers part). That amp has 2 10amp fuses which means it is capable of producing a MAXIMUM of 288watts. The best way to hook up a sub would be to bridge the amp but you can't because when you wire your sub it will be 2ohms and a 2ohm load on that amp when it's bridged will ruin the amp. You could run each coil to it's own channel on the amp BUT you will have to add a second set of terminals to the subwoofer box and even then you will only be getting about 100watts RMS to each coil. GET A NEW AMP! To ideally power that sub you need an amp that is around 750x1 RMS @2ohms (make sure you look at the RMS power rating for amps). OR get a new sub, something around 200watts RMS and with a 4ohm SINGLE voice coil or 2ohm DVC.
